ABOUT ME //////

ANDY MITTOO is one of the most interesting reggae and rocksteady artists in the Italian and European reggae scene. After being a member of Mr. t-Bone & The young Lions, he decided to start his solo career. He continues to perform on important European stages such as Africa Tage (A), Skamouth (UK), Nowa Reggae (ES), Reggae Jam (D), Reggae Geel (B), Jazz Café (London UK), Rototom Sunsplash (E) alongside world-famous reggae artists such as Alton Ellis (R.I.P - he even renamed himself Mittoo in honor of the great Jackie Mittoo), Ken Boothe, Mykal Rose, Dave Barker, Dennis Alcapone, Winston Reedy, The Pioneers, and many others.

In 2014, his debut album "On My Way" was released by the London-based Roots Rockers, recorded with his band The Groove Makers, arousing much interest for his fresh and sunny sounds, also receiving rotation on BBC 1XTRA radio hosted by David Rodigan. Excellent reviews were found on Reggae Vibes (B), Rastasnob (ITA), Reggae France (FR), Reggaeville (D), and many others.

In 2016, the Italian album "Rumore Clandestino" was released, produced by Riserva Sonora Records in collaboration with Warner Chappell, and played on many Italian FM radio stations with the single "C'è Che Mi Va".

In 2017, a new EP titled "Reggaeneration" was released, presented during Mykal Rose and Ken Boothe's European tour as the opening act for each of their concerts, followed by an important mixtape by the Roman sound system Dancahall Soldiers.

Andy has worked with important producers such as Chris Peckings, Dennis Bovell, Germaica Digital, Gorilla Music, and many others.

In 2018, he began a new adventure as a musician with the well-known New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, and currently is an official member of the band, with whom he has recorded two albums, one of which is "Break Thru" in New York.

In the early months of 2019, the new album by O'Zulù (99 Posse) titled "Bassi per le Masse" was released, on which Andy participated as a guest, along with other well-known Italian artists such as Bunna (Africa Unite), as a singer for the song "One is the Danfloor" and as a keyboardist for some songs.

There are plans for the release of some songs recorded at the Mixin'Lab (Kingston Jamaica) during his trip to the land of Bob Marley. Currently, he is evolving with a new sound alongside DJ Spike.
